Xiaomi Phone 2: $314 (1999 Yuans) a quad-core processor Android smartphone (available from October2012)
It looks like all standard Smartphones’ design, set by the first Apple iPhone but the chinese Xiaomi Millet 2 (Mi2) breaks technology’s performances & frontiers at low cost.
Powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor (the APQ8064) paired with an Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM, the Mi2 has a 4.3-inch 720p IPS display, and 16GB of internal storage. Imaging duties are taken care of by an 8 megapixel sensor with an f/2.0, 27mm wide-angle lens that can shoot stills at 8 fps (frames per second) and record 1080p video and with also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The standard 2000mAh battery will hopefully keep the device running through to the end of the day, but Xiaomi will sell you a 3000mAh battery if you don’t mind the added bulk of 2mm extra of the thickness of the Mi2.
HTC (Taiwan), Samsung(Korea), and Apple (as main players now) will have to keep up the challenge with their respective next generation devices, confronting now their technology with the challenging record low price of $314 or €252 (Czk6.200)
This price is half the cost of most US phone models.
